Chocolate Diamonds

By

Low color diamonds, now more commonly referred to as "chocolate diamonds," are yellowish or brownish in hue. They were once the undesirable diamond and thus unpopular. They are different than the more popular clear or white diamonds in that they are not as scarce and therefore not as valuable. Many diamond mines produce them and so they are readily available.

Chocolate diamonds, perhaps due to their new name, seem to be gaining in popularity however. A brilliant marketing scheme to help sell an abundance of low color diamonds was to rename them to "chocolate diamonds." People who never gave brown diamonds the time of day, now are looking at these diamonds. They want to be able to say that they own a chocolate diamond. It's different. It's a conversation starter and more than anything else, it's still a diamond!

An idea for using chocolate diamonds in jewelry is to pair it with white diamonds. The contrast is one of a great beauty. Surround a white diamond with a ring of chocolate diamonds. Use them in rings, cuff links, necklaces, brooches, bracelets or pendants. A great fashion statement can be made with chocolate diamonds. Think about chocolate diamond jewelry along with your clothing ensemble.

Chocolate diamonds would be a great gift for both women or men. For women, any occasion will do of course. Women will accept diamonds no matter what! But specific occasions you can think about giving the gift of chocolate diamonds can be for anniversaries, Mother's Day, Christmas or even birthdays. Don't just think about your wife or girlfriend, but your mother or daughter would even be grateful for such thoughtful gesture. Most likely it will be something they will treasure for a lifetime. It will be something they will want to show off. They will wear it with pride. They will show it to their friends and they will be most excited to see that their friends wish they had one too! To own something which is desirable to others can give a person a great amount of pleasure.

When shopping for chocolate diamonds, you most likely will want to see them in person.  Go to your local jewelers and ask to see all the chocolate diamond jewelry they have in stock.  Ask to take the pieces out of the cases and hold them in your hand.  You will love not only the look of chocolate diamonds, but also the feel of them as you hold these precious stones.  Try them on or bring your wife along to see how she looks wearing them.  Jewelers can also set chocolate diamonds in other pieces of jewelry.  You can ask for something to be custom-made and tailored to your own desires.  An idea is to bring along an old heirloom piece of jewelry and have a chocolate diamond set in it.  Or, ask the jeweler to see what other settings are available for chocolate diamonds other than the ones they have in stock.  They may have a portfolio or catalog to show some good samples to you.

Once you are home with your beautiful new chocolate diamonds jewelry, bring it over to your wardrobe.  Hold it up against some of your clothing and see how it looks. Chocolate diamonds look great with gold and also colors like blue and green.  These really make it stand out.

Owning chocolate diamonds is something that will bring you a pride of ownership.  Wear them for special occasions or 'just because.'  Have your photo taken while wearing them.  Or perhaps sit for a portrait painting.  Chocolate diamonds are heirloom pieces that you will want to pass down to further generations to enjoy.

Sure, they look beautiful, but how do they taste? Seriously though, I had never heard of chocolate diamonds before, but going by the picture, they are quite pretty and unique. I guess the issue of "conflict diamonds" is valid here, as it is with any diamond purchase. Make sure you know where you're getting your diamonds from, and don't be a contributor to the slave trade that goes on in places like Africa...

This is to jazzuboo, if he is still around. i lived in sierra leone for 14 years and was a diamond miner and buyer there most of the time. i have heard many stupid things about diamonds and the one that if you buy a chocolate diamond you are contributing to the slave trade? Give me a f__cking break will you. Diamonds and slave trade have nothing in common and this person is just another do gooder that has no clue to what is going on in africa and is spouting crap he has heard. but they are pretty diamonds but be sure you do not get one that has been nuked to get the color.
